Beginning to work with Hive Media as a contractor is easy, unique and fun! We work with the best freelancers from around the globe to ensure that our client's projects are fulfilled quickly. Please carefully read the qualifications, FAQ and application steps below to begin your steps to become a part of Team Hive Media.


Contractor Qualifications

Below you will find a list of qualifications which you will need in order to apply.

Proven Experience

  • You need at least three years experience in your field.
  • Please tell us what types of projects you have developed in the past.
  • You will need to provide two work references which we may contact.

Top-Tier Talents

  • You need to be able to show your work by sending us a link to your online portfolio.
  • Your work must be of high quality. We do not work with the "lowest bidder" in place of quality.
  • Understand what it takes to work remotely.

Other Qualifications

  • You must speak English Fluently.
  • You must sign an NDA, Copyrights Transfer and other legal documents.
  • We may need samples of your work to display to your clients.


Step 1 - Apply

  • Use the contact form below to apply. Please fill out as much as possible.
  • Give us time to respond. It could be weeks or more before we reply.
  • Due to the large volume of applications we receive we can not reply to everyone.

Step 2 - Review

  • Other team members will review your work to ensure that it meets our high standards.
  • We will contact your references.
  • Hive Media will never ask you for sample work to "prove yourself", we do not believe in work without compensation.

Step 3 - Acceptance

  • If accepted we will contact you with an email.
  • You will need to agree to the terms and sign three or more legal documents.
  • You may be required to allow us to use your samples so that we can display your talents.

Contractor FAQ

  1. You state that you will need legal documents signed, can you elaborate?

    You will most likely need to sign at least three legal documents.

    Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
    As we work with sensitive projects you will need to confirm that you will not discuss the projects or Hive Media's activities outside of Hive Media.

    Copyright Transfer
    This states that you release ownership of the Rights to any paid work you create for Hive Media once your payment is received. This is so that our client's own the Rights to the work they have paid for.

    Non-Compete
    This document states that while you may pursue other contracts you may not contact Hive Media clients in an attempt to undermine our hard work finding projects for our team.

  1. You mention that you may ask for a few of my samples to show clients, can you explain?

    This is to help us show your talents to the client. This helps us obtain projects for you to work on. You retain the rights to the works you let us show. If you leave for Hive Media for any reason these works will be removed from our website and no longer be used.

  1. May I work remotely?

    Of course! We realize that there is great talent around the globe. You must be a self starter as our clients expect work to be finished at an in-house studio pace, though we find our pace is actually faster.
